Academics at Parkway

At Parkway Christian School, we endeavor to offer a broad curriculum for our academic programs of study using differentiated instruction. We recognize that students come to us with many different backgrounds and abilities, and that our programs must be designed to meet the needs of all students, helping each one reach their full potential. Proverbs 22:6 admonishes us to: "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." Our belief is that by concentrating on the gifts and abilities of each student, integrating the biblical worldview in each subject, and offering a comprehensive curriculum, we are fulfilling this directive.

Early Childhood

In Preschool, we begin to equip students spiritually, emotionally, socially, and cognitively as they take their journey through our program. We are licensed through the State of Michigan, and follow state curriculum guidelines. We weave our curriculum through Kingdom Education principles, where the Word of God becomes our starting point. We teach the children developmentally as we work in large and small groups each day. Students have the opportunity to learn through play in creative centers that are set up in the classroom. We have monthly scripture verses that the students memorize, and weekly Bible stories that are shared and expounded upon to meet their levels of understanding.

Elementary School

The Parkway Christian Elementary academic program is designed to lay the foundation for your child’s life of learning. We integrate Christian teachings with traditional and differentiated instruction to best meet the individual learning needs of each student.

Courses include Bible, Mathematics, English Language Arts, Science, Spanish and Social Studies. Art, Music, Physical Education and integrated computer technology are also integral parts of our core curriculum.

Middle School

Our Middle School is the bridge between elementary and high school. Here, students continue learning basic skills and in addition learn study skills and habits necessary for serious academic work in high school. We recognize the unique needs of rapidly growing middle school students by offering a rich variety of academic and practical learning opportunities. Conscious of the spiritual capacity of middle school students, all subjects are taught from a Christian perspective and help students make ethical decisions.

High School

Parkway Christian is so much more than just another high school. We are strong in so many areas — academics, athletics, performing arts, student life, and more — but that just scratches the surface. We aspire to be an extraordinary high school in Macomb County with the heart and soul of Christ. We focus on Christian character development while conducting our instruction through the lens of a Christian worldview. We don’t just teach students about the Bible; we help them better understand the gifts and talents that God has given them. Then we inspire them to explore how to use these gifts to help the world around them. In fact, this is an integral part of our curriculum.
